The Complete List of ingredients for Clearin:

Cystine (L-Cystine) - Cystine is usually found in its natural form L-Cystine. This amino acid is an integral part of the insulin molecule and therefore thought to be one of the reasons for its necessity, especially in glucose metabolism and fatty acid use. It is thought to be useful as well in the natural care and nurturing of new tissue orchestrated by the body. Its sulfur-rich amino group has been found useful in soothing and caring for a variety of skin conditions.Made from the bonding of two cysteine molecules, very little is found in its free form within the bloodstream. Cystine helps hold other protein molecules in shape as they are being transported around the body, and it is this amino acid that gives or determines the form and mechanical properties of many animal and plant proteins, including your skin! For example, the fibrous protein gluten (made from cystine) gives wheat dough its elasticity, and high cystine keratin (16% of keratin is cystine), makes tortoise shell hard and human hair curly or straight. It may allow balding men to help retain their hair (unproven), and allows skin to appear smooth and supple instead of rough and patchy.

Aloe vera (Aloe Vera Gel, Aloe Vera Extract,) - Aloe. Throughout history, the powers of the Aloe vera plant have been extolled. Its natural powers of calming and soothing the skin, as well as naturally balancing the pH of the skin, are well known. Used cosmetically, this herb in the proper concentration can be a true balm of Gilead. Herbalists have long known of its wondrous affect in soothing chapped, sunburned, and broken skin as well as providing temporary comfort for minor burns, cuts and wounds. It gives suppleness to dry and weather-etched skin while naturally moisturizing. It can be used effectively both internally or externally, containing 20 amino acids and assorted peptides and alkaloids.Active ingredients include hydroxyanthracene derivatives of the anthrone type, very effective as a laxative when taken internally, inducing an active secretion of water and electrolytes into the lumen of the gut and inhibiting the absorption of electrolytes and water by the colon. It may turn the urine harmlessly red when used often enough. Topically used for the burns, sunburn and mild abrasions; thought to have many healing properties because of the presence of 7-hydroxyaloin isomers and various chromone derivatives with C-glucoside aleresin B and p-cormaroyl aloeresins A and C.Also used as a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional (botanical). (Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and efficacy to the electromagnetic signatures of the original substrate; these are scientifically created dilutions and succussions of medicines such that generally not even a molecule of the original substrate or medicine is present in the medicine). As a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness against the following symptomology: "Excellent remedy to aid in reestablishing physiological equilibrium after much dosing...Bad effects from sedentary life or habits." -abdomen feels full, heavy, hot, bloated; -great accumulation of gas pressing downwards causing distress in lower bowels; colic before and during stool; -sensation of a plug between symphysis and os coccygis with urging to stool; -constant bearing down in rectum; sense of insecurity in rectum; -a lot of mucous with pain in rectum after stool; -burning in anus and rectum; -constipation with heavy pressure in lower part of abdomen (Boericke).

Herba lamnae (Herba lamne) - Used in Asia to aid in the elimination of waste materials from the skin and aid in the preservation of personal hygiene. The Chinese have historically been successful in improving the circulation to the body's covering, temporarily relieving various forms of irritation and inhibiting the growth of unwanted bio-cultures.

Cysteine (L-Cysteine, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, N-acetylc) - Probably the most exciting and important role for the amino acid cysteine, or L-Cysteine as it is found in nature, is its properties of helping the body scavenge and rid itself of poisonous materials. In the liver, cysteine helps another amino acid called glutathione to detoxify carcinogens and other dangerous chemicals. In all the rest of the cells of the body, it is thought to serve as the major scavenger of hazardous oxidants. L-Cysteine acts to protect the cells of the alveoli in the lungs against damage of cigarette smoke, specifically the chemicals of acrolein, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde found in cigarette smoke. The tar and other toxic chemicals within cigarette smoke are known to impair the alveoli's scavenger macrophages to engulf and kill bacteria. Cysteine, along with vitamin C improves the bactericidal effectiveness of these cells. Also, because of the select thiol grouping (-SH) at the ending of this amino group, cysteine is the amino acid which gives glutathione its antioxidant powers and properties. In fact, how much cysteine is available to the body is believed to directly effect how much glutathione is produced and used as an antioxin! Recent research also indicates that it alone could provide protection against HIV-1. Low levels of glutathione in CD4 T-cells are linked to decreased survival rates for HIV-positive individuals. Orally administered NAC (n-acetylcysteine) and glutamine, nutritional precursors of GSH (but cheaper than pure GSH), worked very well in restoring whole blood glutathione levels, and those with low CD4 cells survived twice as long when taking NAC and glutamate supplements. The authors report that replenishing glutathione levels might be a key to improving survival of HIV-positive patients, however more studies are needed. (Herzenberg, L.A., et al, Glutathione deficiency is associated with impaired survival in HIV disease, Pro Natl Acad Sci, 1997, 94: 1967-1972.). See GlutathioneAlong with stimulating L-Glutathione supplies in the body, NAC, a form of L-Cysteine has been shown to raise the levels of HDL Cholesterol (the good or protective type of cholesterol) NAC splits the Lp(a) and its sticky protein band apart on the cholesterol molecule, which acts to render it harmless. NAC also acts to reduce levels of homocyeine, protecting against homocytein's damaging effects on the arteriesSkin texture and flexibility are thought to be related to cysteine function by virtue of free radical inactivation, although more research has yet to be done on this.

Glutamic Acid (L-Glutamic Acid) Under certain conditions, L-Glutamic acid is an essential amino acid. Glutamic acid along with Glutamine, are the dominant amino acids of the cerebrospinal fluid and serum. Known as one of the notorious three musketeers in brain neurochemistry, Glutamic acid is a uniquely powerful brain food, an excitatory neurotransmitter which paradoxically can give rise to GABA, an inhibitory and balancing neurotransmitter within the brain. Glutamic acid is found in concentration within the hippocampus (the memory centers of the brain), in cranial nerves as well as other areas of information transfer to effect motor response. This amino acid is essential for the production of other nonessential amino acids, a process called "transamination."

PABA (Para-aminobenzoic acid) - This is a vitamin B cofactor that aids the body in its regenerative processes of blood cell formation and protein utilization. When taken internally as a supplement it is thought to promote the body's defenses against damage from ultraviolet radiation, although this finding when applied to topical creams is still somewhat controversial. PABA actually helps the skin, keeping it smooth and healthy, fighting against dry patches and itching and excess flaking. It is also of nutritional significance to hair, helping to restore natural color and sheen when working with the amino acids cystine and cysteine.

Radix Angelicai Sinensis (Dong Quai)

Radix salviae miltiorrhizae - The skin is the largest organ of elimination and often removes toxic wastes through the pores and throughout the capillaries. This particular Chinese herb is used to promote a radiant complexion by possibly helping to ensure the rapid transport of toxins which are known to cause various irritating skin problems; by improving the circulation and encouraging the body's production of health defenses.

Magnesium (magnesium ascorbate, magnesium gluconat) - A mineral that comes in many forms and abilities to assimilate. The presence of magnesium nutritionally helps metabolize calcium, Vitamin C and carbohydrates; nutritionally promotes healthy teeth, nerves and muscles; and energizes and fights against sadness, stress and unhappiness. Magnesium is excellent in nutritively helping many skin troubles, being a necessary electrolyte essential for all cell functions, from neural pathways acting in neuromuscular transmission, to being an important cofactor in cell metabolism, required for lipid/fat metabolism, thiamine utilization and enzyme reactions.Magnesium works with many of the B vitamins and is a necessary part of amino acid synthesis and general functioning as well. Perhaps its most important function is its involvement in Phosphate-transfer reaction and changes in energy states within the body.

Pyridoxine HCL-B6 - This is a vitamin that aids the body in the metabolism of protein and fat by participating actively in many chemical reactions (more than a 100 enzyme reactions) of protein and amino acid synthesis and degradation. It also helps with normal brain function, and the formation of red blood cells. Vitamin B-6 may help maintain chemical balance among body fluids while promoting healthy eyes, tongue and nervous system. Vitamin B-6 is thought to be especially helpful in aiding the body in preventing cracks at mouth corners, skin breakouts, and other stress-related skin problems. The lack of B6 will reduce the formation of niacin from tryptophan and can cause homocysteinuria and oxaluria that may have serious consequences. Indeed, B6 deficiency results in an increased formation of stones (calcium oxalate) in the kidneys and/or throughout the urinary tract system and the retention of homocystine in the blood, contributing to the development of atherosclerosis (cardiovascular disease). Results of a recent meta-analysis in Oxford, England at the Radcliffe Infirmary demonstrated that Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid (and to a lesser extend Vitamin B6, whose presence is necessary to convert homocysteine to the amino acid L-cysteine) were necessary vitamins involved in the body's cleansing process called methylation, wherein dangerous homocysteine levels are reduced. Lowering homocysteine levels has indicated a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease by as much as 30%-40% (BMJ, 316(7135):894-898, March1998).

OptiZinc (zincmonomethione) - An antioxidant made by the InterHealth Co. in California, the same company that makes ChromeMate & ActiVin. OptiZinc has demonstrated synergistic effects with other antioxidants, far surpassing the abilities of common vitamin antioxidants such as vitamin A, E, and C. The antioxidant power of OptiZinc has been confirmed in multiple university-based studies. It also helps glutathione reserves in the body, as well as possibly reduce homocysteine levels because of its molecular configuration.

A (Vitamin A, Vit.A, Retinol, Vitamin A Palmitate) - An antioxidant thought to be essential for normal function of the retina, aids in the soothing of many eye disorders, promotes bone growth and tooth development, and helps the body form and maintain fine healthy skin, hair and mucus membranes. Vitamin A is used to preserve a smooth skin texture, prevent dryness, and avoid blemishes or hasten their correction. Deficiency can cause eruptions or dry, course, wrinkled skin; dry hair or dandruff; ridging or peeling fingernails.

Beta Carotene (Vitamin A-Beta Carotene, Beta Carot) - With a Mol. Wt. 537, carotene or provitamin A, or a precursor to vitamin A, is a group of yellow, orange or red plant pigments occurring in many fruits and vegetables, as well as animal fat, that yield vitamin A upon oxidative scission. The digestive track converts carotene to retinol (vitamin A) in animals. Found in many foods, carotene has generally one sixth the activity of retinol. The average adult should consume 5000 I.U. of vitamin A,, and approximately two thirds of the vitamin A activity is provided by carotene. The most common and active form of carotene is beta-carotene. Other forms exist, but they are not so active, however they are being found to be important, such as lycopene. Lycopene, a carotenoid and antioxidant, is thought to be involved in protecting the skin from UV radiation in human studies at Tufts University with the USDA; much more of lycopene is destroyed, and destroyed more quickly than beta-carotene. Rich sources of lycopene include foods like tomatoes and watermelon -- lycopene is a red pigment. Rich sources of beta-carotene (an orange pigment) include most green vegetables, carrots, yellow squash, apricots and sweet potatoes. Beta-carotene is thought to be an important part of any program focusing on cardiovascular disease prevention. It has been loosely linked with cholesterol management but the data to this point has been conflicting with many studies having been flawed and not well controlled.

D (Vitamin D, Vit.D, Vitamin D2) - This is a vitamin that aids in absorption of calcium for healthy bones and a stable nervous system. Vitamin D is a rudimentary and essential vitamin that is believed to promote healthy eyes, skin and teeth. Although much is manufactured simply by being exposed to the sun's ultraviolet light, supplementation is generally thought necessary to ensure adequate supplies. Also used topically as a beneficial oil to the skin.
