The Complete List of Ingredients for BioTonen:

Deionized Water - Purified water that is the result of electromagnetic filtering, removing close to 100% of mineral deposits and all other foreign organic and inorganic materials.

Butylene Glycol (with Alistin) - Used as a preservative and stabilizer in cosmetic formulas with active organic ingredients. With Alistin, a hydroglycolic solution with carcinine hydrochloride, the resulting compound has universal antioxidant activity, also an antiinflammatory effect (as in Alistin, a pseudodipeptide), and inhibits linoleic and phosphatidylcholine liposomes perioxidation initiated by O2 iron ascorbate system. It also demonstrates an anti-glycation effect: antioxidative properties allow it reduce the oxidative cross-linking. With Alistin, there is displayed a quite different action of antioxidative activity because of its bivalent ability to reduce the lipids perioxidative forms (unsaturated fatty acid, of the phospholipids membrane) and to protect the hydrophilic molecules ( e.g. Carbohydrates, DNA). The Alistin biological activities can fully express themselves at mucous membrane and skin levels due to its resistance to enzymatic deactivation in opposition to Carnosine. Like Carnosine, Cacinine has an antioxidant effect in hydrophilic mediums, protecting hydrophilic targets from oxidative stress. Antiaging Prevention and regeneration of tissues submitted to oxidative stress, antiinflammation. (Alistin in Cosmetology, Product Description, Exsymol)

Hamamelis Extract

Cherry Bark (Cherry Bark Extract, Prunis avium) - This herb/tree is thought to tone and brighten the skin to a "cherry" complexion, adding color by tingling the skin into a rosy complexion as well as allowing the hair to show its highlights. Useful in combination with many other herbs to the skin and hair.

Lemon (Lemon Extract, Rutaceae, Citrus lemon) - The fruit, juice and peel of this fruit are rich in vitamins and minerals, as well as being a natural antioxidant -- that's why lemon juice keeps apples and avocados, for example, from turning brown (becoming oxidized) - but little known is the fact that those same properties are helpful in keeping the skin fresh and moist as well. The antioxidant properties of lemon nutritionally aid the skin, possibly enhancing the body's abilities to naturally rid itself of free radicals. A buildup of free radicals is believed partially responsible for causing premature wrinkling and may retard the body's natural sloughing of the skin as well. With lemon, of course, comes citric acid, which is one of the Alpha Hydroxy Acids and are naturally accepted by the skin and hair follicles of the scalp of young people. This is thought to be one of the nutritional reasons why their skin remains so supple and taught, naturally sloughing to retain their youthful appearance. Lemon adds sparkle and highlights to hair as well, and again because of its antioxidant properties, its sheen and brilliance are thereafter protected.

Aloe vera (Aloe Vera Gel, Aloe Vera Extract, Aloe.) - Throughout history, the powers of the Aloe vera plant have been extolled. Its natural powers of calming and soothing the skin, as well as naturally balancing the pH of the skin, are well known. Used cosmetically, this herb in the proper concentration can be a true balm of Gilead. Herbalists have long known of its wondrous affect in soothing chapped, sunburned, and broken skin as well as providing temporary comfort for minor burns, cuts and wounds. It gives suppleness to dry and weather-etched skin while naturally moisturizing. It can be used effectively both internally or externally, containing 20 amino acids and assorted peptides and alkaloids.Active ingredients include hydroxyanthracene derivatives of the anthrone type, very effective as a laxative when taken internally, inducing an active secretion of water and electrolytes into the lumen of the gut and inhibiting the absorption of electrolytes and water by the colon. It may turn the urine harmlessly red when used often enough. Topically used for the burns, sunburn and mild abrasions; thought to have many healing properties because of the presence of 7-hydroxyaloin isomers and various chromone derivatives with C-glucoside aleresin B and p-cormaroyl aloeresins A and C.Also used as a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional (botanical). (Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and efficacy to the electromagnetic signatures of the original substrate; these are scientifically created dilutions and succussions of medicines such that generally not even a molecule of the original substrate or medicine is present in the medicine). As a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness against the following symptomology: "Excellent remedy to aid in reestablishing physiological equilibrium after much dosing...Bad effects from sedentary life or habits." -abdomen feels full, heavy, hot, bloated; -great accumulation of gas pressing downwards causing distress in lower bowels; colic before and during stool; -sensation of a plug between symphysis and os coccygis with urging to stool; -constant bearing down in rectum; sense of insecurity in rectum; -a lot of mucous with pain in rectum after stool; -burning in anus and rectum; -constipation with heavy pressure in lower part of abdomen (Boericke).

Asparagus Extract - Asparagus is long known to revitalize, stimulate and tone the skin, while reducing puffiness, when applied as a soothing balm in cosmetics and cosmeceuticals, reducing pH and preparing the skin so as to receive additional nutritional substances.

Centella asiatica (Centella Asiatica Extract Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica, Hydrocotyle asiatica) - This herb dates back to India where it enjoyed a reputation of being a plant which promoted longevity, and has some historical significance too, in that it has been used by religious organizations which claim that it heightens spiritual powers. More practically, their leaves are known to have a marked nutritionally energizing effect on the brain without increasing stress. Often confused with the kola nut, it is not related; nor does Gotu Kola contain any caffeine. In fact, its properties are said to allow a brightness of the spirit while bestowing a calming influence at the same time. It contains a natural soothing agent believed to stimulate the energy levels within the body without raising stress levels. This legendary herb is also considered a "tonic," a natural water eliminator, stimulating the body to release stored water masses. Several studies have shown that Centella aids in the development of strong connective tissue, actually stimulating the production of compounds which make up the "ground substance" where collagen fibers are embedded. Centella has also demonstrated some enhancement of the venous flow into the lower limbs, aiding in some improvement of varicose veins. The extract's effect on cellulite appears to be linked to this latter capacity for its ability to promote connective tissue structure and reduce sclerosis of target areas (hardening).

Allantoin - An extraction from comfrey root, it is well-known for its soothing and calming qualities. Allantoin nutritionally potentiates the natural binding capacity of the skin, thus helping the body to maintain and restore healthy tissue.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs, 7-AHA-BHA Complex, 7-A) - These are Nature's Own Secret Moisturizers! These precious ingredients are naturally found in abundance in the skin of young people and are thought to be a reason why their skin is generally so supple. These substances are also naturally found in tropical fruits and may be why South Sea Island people, after consuming such fruits, have such beautiful, soft skin despite the fact that they receive so much sun. These Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) perform three very important functions for our skin:1) They act to pull necessary moisture from the air onto our skin, as well as pull moisture up from the depth of our dermis, ensuring that our skin is more moist than the air that surrounds it. 2) They naturally exfoliate the dead layers of our skin. As we age, we slow down the natural process of exfoliating dead cells that accumulate on the top layer of our skin. This causes a dry, crusty layer of skin to form, making your skin less translucent and more lifeless. Such an accumulation is thought to cause some forms of wrinkling. By providing a natural way to remove this dead, dry layer of skin, a more natural, soft, moist layer will become apparent.3) And perhaps most importantly, when used correctly, AHAs synergistically combine and emulsify the oils and the water in our skin so that it produces a creamy, moist, youthful texture to the touch while naturally protecting us from the harm of UV radiation.Interestingly, these three effects are generally not demonstrated when just one or two of the acids are used alone. At least five Alpha Hydroxy Acids must be present in certain concentrations to yield such results. Vxa uniquely uses all seven AHAs and their beta counterparts (BHA's): Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid and Ascorbic Acid. When all AHA's (and their beta counterparts) are used together, there is no irritation of the skin.

BioActive Enzymes

Polysorbate 20 - A water-soluble ointment base, nonionic surfactant useful as an emulsifying agent.

Floral Essence - Organically derived natural essences from the oils of flowers; olfactory agents used primarily in cosmetics and cosmeceuticals.

Methyl Paraben - An antiseptic and preservative used to inhibit microbial growth and extend shelf life of cosmetics.

Diazolidinyl urea - An organic derivative, nonirritating, useful in preserving topical lotions and creams, preventing bacterial growth.
